Every young person has potential, sometimes, they just need the space to discover what’s possible. At The Dome, we believe supporting young people is more than providing activities and experiences while they’re with us, it’s about helping them take their next steps when they’re ready.
We don’t want a young person to come through The Dome, build confidence, develop skills, and discover their passions, only for us not to support them with what comes next. Whether that’s moving into employment, an apprenticeship, college, university, or another pathway, we want to help every young person understand their options and feel confident about their future.
A key part of this is helping young people understand the world of work from an early age. By introducing them to different industries, careers, and opportunities, we can help them see possibilities they may never have considered and make informed choices about their future.
CREATING PATHWAYS FROM POTENTIAL TO OPPORTUNITY
This video showcases the award-winning employability programme at Wigan Youth Zone, where young people are supported to explore career opportunities, build valuable skills and prepare for the world of work.
Inspired by the impact of this programme, we have an ambition to develop a similar offer at The Dome, helping young people in Crewe discover their strengths, broaden their aspirations, and take confident steps towards their future.
By working alongside local businesses and employers, we can connect young people with real career opportunities in their community, helping to develop skills, build confidence and create meaningful pathways into employment.
